Whispers of a Broken Heart

January 26, 2025

Once, thy care did light mine nights,
Thou called, thou shared, easing mine plights.
Each hour, thy voice, a soothing breeze,
Yet now but silence doth bring unease.

I bartered dreams, mine hallow'd space,
Now tarpaulin walls be mine disgrace.
For thee, I gaveth what life did yield,
Yet now I wander 'neath sorrow’s shield.

I know mine grief doth weigh thee so,
A burden, a wretch, thou'd wish to forego.
Yet ne'er again shall I intrude,
Nor seeketh thy words, though they allude.

Mine eyes hath seen the truth at last,
Care shan't return, the time hath past.
Thus, I withdraw, I bid thee free,
To dwell in peace, devoid of me.

No burden more, no cry, no plea,
No whispers soft, no bonds to thee.
Be well, fair soul, I’ll findeth mine way,
Within the still of a lonelier day.
