Left Behind by My Own

April 16, 2026 Add Comment

A life ruined by my own,
Trusted hands turned into betrayal,
Smiles hiding quiet destruction within,
My joys reached me through strangers.

My son’s success, never from him,
Heard from others, not my place,
Silence surrounds my empty heart,
No one remains to truly love.

A sister beside me, full deceit,
She wanted wealth, not me,
I became a shadow to them,
My worth measured only in assets.

When my health slowly failed,
I became someone easily discarded,
Pain echoed without any listener,
Even my voice felt unwanted.

Still, I continue to breathe,
Holding myself from falling apart,
Living without a clear reason,
Yet hope refuses to fully die.

A Tale of the Encroaching Tiger

A Tale of the Encroaching Tiger

O hear ye now this doleful tale, unfold,
Of tiger fierce and farmers meek and poor,
Where nature’s bond hath grown so frail and cold,
And strife doth knock upon the forest’s door.

By night, the stealthy tiger leaves his glade,
To tread the farmer’s toil, his field of maize.
For hunger drives him, no abode he’s made,
And man and beast in fear do meet their gaze.

The farmer, trembling, bears his sharpen’d spear,
His crops his wealth, his labor’s golden prize.
But lo! The tiger, bold, yet wrought with fear,
Seeks not the man, but food ‘neath starlit skies.

Alas! The clash of needs both dire and deep,
A battle none doth wish, yet must unfold.
The farmer mourns his land, his peaceful sleep,
The tiger mourns his wood, his hunger’s hold.

Shall man, in anger’s haste, the beast condemn,
And rend the balance that the earth hath spun?
Or shall he seek a wiser stratagem,
To guard his kin and let the tiger run?

Perchance a way, where both may find their rest,
Where farmers till in peace, the beast confined.
A fence, a wall, a refuge to be blest,
That forest, field, and life may yet be kind.

O thou, who hear’st this tale of woe and plight,
Take heed of wisdom’s voice and mercy’s call.
For man and beast alike do share the night,
And nature’s realm was made to hold us all.

Let not the spear decide the tiger’s fate,
Nor hunger lay the farmer’s dreams to waste.
But forge a path where both may yet create,
A world of harmony, and lives embraced.

So rise, ye hearts, and set your minds to deed,
Let compassion’s light your actions frame.
For tiger fierce and farmer, both in need,
Deserve a world where none may bear the blame.

This task be ours, to heal the bond once torn,
And save both man and beast from sorrow’s scorn.

Whispers of a Broken Heart

Once, thy care did light mine nights,
Thou called, thou shared, easing mine plights.
Each hour, thy voice, a soothing breeze,
Yet now but silence doth bring unease.

I bartered dreams, mine hallow'd space,
Now tarpaulin walls be mine disgrace.
For thee, I gaveth what life did yield,
Yet now I wander 'neath sorrow’s shield.

I know mine grief doth weigh thee so,
A burden, a wretch, thou'd wish to forego.
Yet ne'er again shall I intrude,
Nor seeketh thy words, though they allude.

Mine eyes hath seen the truth at last,
Care shan't return, the time hath past.
Thus, I withdraw, I bid thee free,
To dwell in peace, devoid of me.

No burden more, no cry, no plea,
No whispers soft, no bonds to thee.
Be well, fair soul, I’ll findeth mine way,
Within the still of a lonelier day.

Ballet of Wishes: "A Butterfly's Quest for the Sun"

Amidst the meadow where dreams align,
A butterfly's wish, a tale to entwine.
Azure skies beckon, a celestial quest,
Aspirations flutter, on wings of zest.
A dance with the daylight, desire defined.

Beneath the sun's gaze, a radiant plea,
Butterfly dreams, wild and free.
Boundless hunger in colors spun,
Blossoming wishes, chasing the sun.
Ballet of dreams in the tapestry.

Celestial ballad in twilight's hush,
Craving the sun, a delicate hush.
Canvas of wings, vibrant and bright,
Chasing the sun, in the soft twilight.
Casting desires in a whispered rush.

Dancing in meadows where wildflowers bloom,
Dreams unfurl, dispelling the gloom.
Delicate whispers in zephyr's soft hum,
Dine on sunlight, oh dreams become.
Dance of the butterfly in nature's room.

Embers of day, where dreams alight,
Ethereal wishes, a celestial flight.
Essence of sunshine, a fervent plea,
Embrace the radiance, set spirits free.
Enchanting desires, bathed in sunlight.

Fluttering wings paint a dreamscape anew,
Fragile wishes, where aspirations strew.
Fire in its hunger, a nocturnal scheme,
Feast on the sun, in the moonlit dream.
Fables of a butterfly, wishes accrue.

Golden mornings greet the butterfly's rise,
Graceful dreams under awakening skies.
Gossamer whispers weave tales untold,
Gleaming desires, a symphony unfolds.
Gazing at daylight with longing eyes.

Heavens unfold, a butterfly's trance,
Hunger for sunlight, a delicate dance.
Hues of the meadow, where wildflowers bloom,
Harmony echoes in nature's room.
Hymns of a butterfly, dreams enhance.

In the meadow's embrace, where dreams unfold,
Illuminate wishes, let stories be told.
Infinite cravings, a celestial yearn,
In the dance of desires, lessons to learn.
In the meadow's ballet, a story to be scrolled.

"Resilience Amidst Shadows: A Sestina of Heartache and Renewal"

August 20, 2023 Add Comment
Amidst the ebb and flow, a lone man's life,
A tale of trials, of shadows cast by strife.
Once wed, his heart held love so strong and deep,
Now memories of her in dreams still creep.

A vacant space beside him, empty bed,
Her absence like a wound that never bled.
Their laughter echoes faintly through the years,
He navigates the pain, the silent tears.

He bears the weight of loss, his heart's distress,
A love once pure, now shrouded in duress.
Their son, a star, from him now kept afar,
He longs for times when they were never marred.

The heart's deceit, a traitor in the dark,
A battle fought within, an endless arc.
A whispered rhythm, life's fragile refrain,
He treads with caution, battles fought in vain.

In solitude, he seeks a balm for pain,
A mending force to heal what's cracked and strained.
His son's absence, a void that's hard to mend,
A bond untethered, waiting to ascend.

He dreams of days when laughter would ascend,
Aching for solace from his heart's deep pain.
A whispered prayer to time, a plea to mend,
For in his soul, the wounds of loss remain.

Through highs and lows, he carries on, remains,
A single figure walking through life's haze,
Hoping for light to pierce through the haze,
For brighter days when love's light will ascend.
His heart, a canvas painted with life's stains,
Still beats with hope, despite enduring pain.

In fleeting moments, memories descend,
A love once whole, he seeks to mend.

His story weaves a tapestry to mend,
A narrative of heartache, veiled in haze.
Yet deep within, a hope begins to ascend,
A flame that warms his soul through storms and pain.
In search of solace, he endures the pain,
Writing a life anew, his wounds to mend.

Through every trial, every tear, he'll mend,
And find his way beyond the shrouding haze.
With strength and grace, he'll rise above the pain,
His heart's enduring journey to ascend.
Though shadows linger, casting shades of pain,
His spirit soars, rekindling life's bright blaze.

A sestina spun, a journey to mend,
Through haze and pain, a story to ascend.
In heart's embrace, a life that will remain.
